Agenda:

7:00 - 7:30 General Meeting & Announcements
7:30 - 7:45 Refreshments
7:45 - Public Presentation

Speaker: Dr. John Axe (Brookhaven National Laboratory; Fellow of the Neutron Scattering Society of America.)

Topic: Resolving the Riddle of the Sun's Neutrino Flux

Synopsis: The talk begins with a reminder of what neutrinos are, how they were first hypothesized and discovered, and the measurement of the neutrino flux of the sun (done at Brookhaven National Laboratory where I worked for 30 years).  Those measurements showed only about a third of the expected flux, and the solution to that mystery was the work that led to the 2015 Nobel Prize.
